We had another try at Grosser Mythen on the weekend, and man was it great.
The gross spring weather, cold and raining and foggy and snowing and boring and blah, is gone and summer is here, and it arrived with a bang! 30 degrees and humid and thunder and lightening in the evenings, it’s time for Letten and chilling by the river, sitting in the sunny, and skipping out from work early.
So we went with a swiss friend, and her two swiss friends, and went up from Schwyz to Mythen. It was a bit cloudy, but very low and we were expecting the sun to be shining on the summit. Up from Holzegg at 1400 to the summit at 1900m in a little over an hour. Spec-fucking-tacular. It was great, so smooth, a bit sweaty, right up over the broken rock, loose scree, metal gratings, and stone staircases and the sun breaking through at around 1,700m. Felt amazing, just amazing, it was so smooth and so easy and my breathing was controlled, no need for a break, no need for water, smooth sailing.
Finally, all that jogging and gym time was for a good reason. Finally, some proof that there was improvement, some proof that all of this has been for a reason, and an amazing confidence boost before this coming weekend, our first 4,000m attempt together.
Going to be great 🙂
